HeadStart is an innovative volunteering programme which upskills and empowers those looking for work.
It connects young people to local volunteering opportunities and provides a guaranteed job interview to those who complete 16 hours with a local charity. HeadStart also provides interview skills and other training to increase the participants’ chances of future employment.
HeadStart provides a significant benefit to society by inspiring a new generation of volunteers and encourages social mixing of people from different backgrounds.
HeadStart is available for those young people who have completed NCS with The Challenge and are looking to take their NCS experience to the next stage.
HeadStart is designed to work around existing commitments that young people have, including their studies. Furthermore, if someone applying for HeadStart is already volunteering then this can count towards their volunteering hours.
HeadStart is currently operating in London, Birmingham, and some parts of Manchester.
